Engineering Grandeur Animation

A personal short clip which uses Christian Art’s aesthetic language against itself, in combination with a striking quote.

The imagery has been created using various scans of paintings by Italian Renaissance artist Giovanni Bellini.

The music score contains some samples from the soundtrack of the movie “300″ (Tyler Bates).

The Hitler quote is from “Hitler m’a dit” (in English “Hitler told me”) written by Hermann Rauschning, former national-socialist chief of the government of Dantzig.

Four to the Floor

I produced a logo for the Four to the Floor music blog, a website which aims to "bring you the best in contemporary, and occasionally finely aged dance music".

The idea is that the "4" goes up the wall, almost like a shadow, and the line separating the wall from the floor hints at the common time signature used in dance music, 4/4. Simples.

Thirt Designs for Tru Thoughts

Limited Edition Tshirt illustrations commissioned by legendary UK music label Tru Thoughts, which represents artists such as Quantic, Belleruche, Bonobo and Rodney P, among others.

The designs had to have a super quick turnaround so that they could be ready in time for the label's showcase in London, at Koko, on the 19th of November 2011.

Up to Now Exhibition

I was part of the Up to Now exhibition at the Red Gallery in Shoreditch during the weekend between the 30th of September and the 2nd of October 2011, where I showed a special filmic exploration of S&M culture accompanied by my own music.

For the past month I've been living in the Swiss mountains, in Schaffhausen, where Europe's widest waterfall is, the Rheinfall. I've been finishing overdue projects, learning more about making music and updating my online presence. This beat goes out for the water.

Fresh Start

This is a new beginning.

I launched the first version of the Many Artists Who Do One Thing website 5 years ago, when I was 19 years old. It was my Dada way of embracing the fact that I could not decide upon a single field of artistic expression and a way of dealing with the problem of not having a recognizable style.

Today the 6th incarnation of this concept went online and it is bigger and better than it has ever been. It has moved on a new, .co.uk domain and it is now powered by the Wordpress platform, showing new and old visual work in a clearer, more enjoyable and better implemented fashion.

Having spent the last year and a half learning music production in almost every bit of spare time I had, the new online home also had to accommodate for a new expressive outlet, sound, which I found complemented my on-going work with moving image perfectly.

Sounds and images being both made up of waves, a new self-describing syntagm emerged, that of being a "wave mover", which, in turn, gave the new site's menu a concept : "Many Artists Who Do One Thing is moving still waves." It is making something out of nothing, creating oscillations to replace void.

As ever, Many Artists Who Do One Thing is asking what the thing it does could be. And it needs answers. Join me as I find them.
